Exhibition Introduction
With a 30-year history, Interlight Russia | Smart City & Home is the only professional exhibition in Russia and the CIS region that simultaneously covers construction and municipal infrastructure. Spanning four major sectors — architectural lighting, building automation, smart home and city, and building security — it has become an annual must-attend industry event for government agencies and associations, brand enterprises, technical experts, and the entire commercial chain including design, wholesale, and retail. The exhibition presents market demands and industry trends at a high level. Key business visitors include technical and procurement personnel from construction developers, contractors, design institutes, urban planning agencies, building owners, and municipal authorities, as well as suppliers at all levels serving these institutions. Its influence has increasingly gained attention at the federal government level of Russia. This exhibition is the preferred platform for Chinese enterprises to understand market information, develop partnerships, maintain customer relationships, and build brands in Russia and the CIS region. The 2025 edition attracted 26,400 professional visitors from 83 regions of Russia and 32 countries, as well as 303 exhibitors from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, China, South Korea, and Europe. Notably, 50% of visitors stated that their purpose for attending was to find new suppliers, demonstrating the immense trade opportunities the exhibition offers. Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, visited the site in person, paying close attention to cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions.
The exhibition features multiple design trend zones, including indoor lighting design and products, street and garden lighting design and products, smart home design, and even artistic (crystal) lighting design. These multi-sector presentations reflect market trends and demands, and also provide rare opportunities for Chinese enterprises to communicate with designers and promote their products and brands. The exhibition includes 18 concurrent events, with 172 industry experts discussing topics such as the lighting market, smart technologies, and urban management. Among these, the LED Forum and the “Smart and Safe City” Forum received enthusiastic responses. The Skolkovo Innovation Cluster brought multiple enterprises to showcase cutting-edge applications in artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
The exhibition continues to enjoy the support of brand exhibitors, including:
Varton: A leading Russian manufacturer of professional LED lighting and IoT intelligent lighting systems, headquartered in Moscow.
Maytoni: A professional lighting brand headquartered in Münster, Germany, focusing on decorative + technical lighting, renowned for German design, high cost-performance, and international certifications.
Arlight: A leading Russian manufacturer of LED lighting and intelligent control systems, founded in 1996, ranking among the top ten LED equipment companies in Russia, with a strong presence in engineering lighting, retail, and home sectors.

III. Market Information
In 2025, Russia’s GDP grew by 1% year-on-year, demonstrating considerable resilience. The economic sectors related to lighting and smart city technologies exhibit the following characteristics:
-
Due to restrictions on private capital outflow, a large amount of capital has remained within the country, directly driving commercial and residential construction in medium and large cities, and stimulating demand for construction-related lighting and smart home products.
-
To improve urban management, the government continues to encourage and invest in municipal construction in medium and large cities, particularly in municipal lighting, municipal surveillance, and management, leading to increasing market demand for related products.
-
To stimulate domestic demand, the government vigorously promotes the development of culture, entertainment, sports events, and tourism. The lighting systems and surveillance facilities in theaters, sports venues, and tourist destinations require investment in maintenance, upgrades, and intelligent transformation, thereby driving demand growth.
-
The Russian government’s policy encouraging the replacement of incandescent lamps with LEDs has been implemented for many years, but the replacement work is far from complete. This industry background creates unique and sustained growth momentum for the market of lighting and smart city technology products in Russia.
In terms of overall market size, the Russian lighting market was valued at USD 4.2–4.5 billion in 2023, and USD 4.8–5.0 billion in 2024, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 12%–15%. Although affected by a high base and macroeconomic adjustments, the market slightly declined to USD 4.7–4.9 billion in 2025, the core LED lighting segment maintained its growth momentum, increasing from USD 3.0 billion in 2023 to approximately USD 3.6 billion in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 20%.
Russia’s domestic production capacity accounts for only 15%–20% of the market size, and the supply of high-end and intelligent products is insufficient. Chinese products, with their high cost-performance ratio and complete supply chain advantages, provide comprehensive options for various lighting products, accessories, and energy storage products. Chinese imports account for as much as 75%–80% of Russia’s total import value, and this large base creates favorable conditions for the continuous replenishment of Chinese product inventories. As the market reputation of Chinese products improves year by year, and well-known European and American lighting brands such as ABB, Panasonic, and Philips have successively exited the Russian market, Chinese enterprises seeking to establish brands locally are facing unprecedented opportunities.
