A delegation comprising 41 specialized lighting enterprises from Zhongshan, organized jointly by the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade, inaugurated their presence at the Light + Building 2026 fair in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 8th. This marks the second government-led trade mission from Zhongshan this year focused on expanding international markets and represents a continued, multi-year effort to deepen the footprint of Zhongshan’s lighting industry in Europe.
Promising Start: Over Ten Million Yuan in Intentional Orders on Opening Day
“Through the exhibition and seminars, we’ve gained a precise understanding of the trends in healthy lighting and intelligent controls, and also felt the immense potential of the European market. We will increase R&D investment to launch products that better meet market demands,” stated Zheng Enpei, Marketing Manager at Guangdong Dongling Power Technology Co., Ltd. (pictured). The participating Zhongshan companies achieved remarkable results, gaining widespread recognition for their superior product quality and innovative designs. On the very first day, they secured intentional orders exceeding 10 million yuan, with the number of qualified trade buyer inquiries increasing by 13% compared to the previous edition. Numerous professional buyers expressed that Zhongshan lighting products successfully combine practicality and innovation, excelling particularly in areas like energy saving and intelligent control. They reportedly meet both EU environmental compliance standards and diverse application lighting needs, fostering strong cooperation intentions.

This time, we not only gained substantial intentional orders but also connected with high-quality international partners. We will continue to deepen our commitment to the European market, aiming to become a benchmark for Zhongshan lighting enterprises going global.”
As the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology, this year’s event, themed
“Empowering an electrified future – Connected & Automated Buildings, Light & Architecture“, focuses on cutting-edge trends such as green electrification, intelligent interconnection, and the fusion of light and art. Centered on the core concepts of “smart, sustainable, and human-centric,” it showcases groundbreaking achievements in lighting technology and architecture. From energy-efficient LED technology to smart city ecosystems, and from healthy lighting design to carbon-neutral building solutions, the fair presents the latest advancements and innovative products. It serves as a key window for understanding global lighting market trends and a vital platform for companies to access premium resources and expand overseas. The opening day attracted over 10,000 trade visitors.
A total of 41 Zhongshan enterprises are exhibiting this year, spanning sectors like healthy lighting, smart luminaires, and LED components. This participation is not just an individual company showcase but a collective “Zhongshan Lighting Brand” mission. Through a model combining government guidance and corporate collaboration, the delegation aims to build an integrated overseas promotion system encompassing “design + manufacturing + branding + service” to enhance overall international recognition.

Leveraging the Fair to Connect with Premium Local Resources
During the fair, a delegation from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade paid a dedicated visit to Messe Frankfurt, engaging in in-depth discussions regarding future collaboration and reaching multiple consensuses. Moving forward, both parties will work together to build a more convenient and efficient cooperation platform for Zhongshan lighting enterprises exploring the European market. Concurrently, the delegation organized participating companies to attend seminars on lighting design trends, guiding them to accurately grasp cutting-edge industry technologies and trends, absorb advanced international concepts, strengthen technological innovation, and enhance their R&D capabilities and core competitiveness.
Notably, prior to the fair’s opening on March 7th, the delegation had already proactively visited the Anhui Chamber of Commerce in Germany. This visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of German market demands and industrial landscape, precisely promote the advantages of Zhongshan’s lighting industry, discuss trade cooperation and investment opportunities, and successfully broaden contact channels for Zhongshan enterprises in Europe, laying a solid foundation for subsequent cooperation.
“In the next two days, we will continue our engagements, visiting Sino-German Industry & Technology Co., Ltd., Yijieya’s overseas warehouse in Düsseldorf, as well as relevant business associations in both Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Our goal is to further connect with premium resources, expand international liaison channels, and assist our enterprises in deepening their presence in the European market,” said Cheng Jichao, Leader of this economic and trade delegation and Fourth-level Researcher at the Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
This participation serves as a concrete step by Zhongshan to implement the “Canton Trade Global” initiative, promoting high-quality products internationally. It also stands as a vivid example of the city’s ongoing commitment to deeply cultivate the European market and foster closer cooperation within industrial and supply chains.
